State Issues

The Western States Petroleum Association proudly works in five western states — California, Arizona, Nevada, Oregon, and Washington – to advance socially, economically, and environmentally responsible public policies that ensure reliable consumer access to petroleum and petroleum products.

WSPA and its members believe in building a better understanding of relevant industry issues by state elected officials and their key policy staff members, regulatory agencies, the media and the public.

We develop and provide accurate, research and fact-based information on a range of industry related issues to inform an exchange of ideas and to guide the development of sound, reasonable policies on matters related to petroleum exploration, development, refining, transportation, delivery and use of our products. We also work to mitigate state legislation and regulations that impose unreasonable and costly mandates and burdens on our industry, businesses, consumers and the economy.
