Oil producers continue to fuel the nation with access to affordable energy and are major contributors to the state’s economy and energy future. Western states, like California, produce close to 600,000 barrels of oil per day, making it the fourth largest oil producing state in the nation, behind Texas, North Dakota and Alaska.
