Mapping California’s Energy Infrastructure

A major theme of climate-driven energy policy is the shift from fossil fuels (molecules) to electrification (electrons).  In order to create a sustainable and equitable energy future, it’s important to keep in mind the intricate nature of California’s current transportation energy system. Any modification within this system triggers a cascade of considerations, consequences and trade-offs, impacting various communities and stakeholders differently. That’s why WSPA developed the following visual aid – to facilitate more informed policy discussions, encompassing all of the significant and interconnected elements of the state’s energy infrastructure as we collective plan for a lower-carbon future.
