California Energy Commission says oil companies lost 31 cents per gallon of gasoline in December 2023

In December, the State of California imposed $1.15 per gallon on consumers, while oil companies lost 31 cents per gallon of gasoline.

In December, the impact from government taxes, fees and costs of climate programs in California was $1.33 per gallon. Over the six months of data released by the CEC, the average net refiner profit margin is 5 cents per gallon.
