Statement from Catherine Reheis-Boyd, President, Western States Petroleum Association
“There’s an unhelpful belief that is being pushed by some that the environment, public health, economic prosperity, and the petroleum industry have to be enemies. We believe that our people, our planet, our shared prosperity and our progress toward a sustainable energy future are all best served by an inclusive dialogue, based on facts, science and common interests.
“It’s imperative to reject any policy or course of action that damages our shared future by putting arbitrary or one-sided restrictions on oil and gas companies.
“Petroleum will remain an integral part of our energy mix for the foreseeable future. Therefore, we will continue to partner with state, local and community leaders to make sure our members are contributing positively to the health, safety, economic opportunity, and the environment of California.”
