Following our Annual Conference, I have the wonderful pleasure of announcing our “President’s Award” recipients. This award is reflective of all the hard work that has been done on behalf of an industry that is constantly evolving. It is with great pride and appreciation that I announce our two recipients for 2022.

George Smith – WSPA Associates member and Board Member of the Northern California Chapter

The work George has done on behalf of our industry goes beyond boundaries. He always has his head and hands involved, whether it is through a community workshop on policy issues or providing testimony at the Air District. He is also one of the founding members of the WSPA Associates program. Thank you, George, for being a steadfast voice for our industry, and for all the excellent work.

Julian Canete – President and CEO of CA Hispanic Chamber of Commerce

The effect of Julian’s work has been felt on multiple levels throughout our industry. He is a thoughtful and smart business community leader whose dedication to the interest of over 850,000 Hispanic-owned businesses in California is as steadfast as the positive energy he brings to every issue and conversation. We thank you Julian for your optimism and courage in assisting to keep our industry moving forward.
