SACRAMENTO, Calif. – The Western States Petroleum Association is pleased to announce that Luis Sanchez has joined the trade group in the position of Manager, California Policy Advocate.
“Luis brings to the WSPA team a unique blend of private and public sector experience, which will be a valuable asset in navigating the regulatory challenges facing our industry,” said Catherine Reheis-Boyd, WSPA President.
As the latest addition to WSPA’s advocacy team, Sanchez will apply his skills and experience toward achieving the organization’s goals of ensuring consumers have continued access to petroleum and petroleum products through policies that are socially, economically and environmentally responsible.
“I’m looking forward to working with WSPA’s staff and members to facilitate a productive dialogue between the industry and policy-makers,” Sanchez said. “This type of transparency is
key to the energy security and environmental protection California’s citizens and economy need to thrive and grow.”
Before joining WSPA, Sanchez served as Chief of Staff in the California State Assembly, where he worked on directing both policy and district staff to ensure that initiatives surrounding constituents’ quality of life were achieved. Prior to that, he was a leading advocate for one of the largest health insurers in California.
Sanchez is a graduate of California State University, Sacramento, with a bachelor’s degree in marketing.
